Don’t make this critical mistake!

Since I am an avid Disneyland and Disney California Adventure (DCA) goer, I am ashamed to admit this. However, I completely forgot to mention the most important step after purchasing your ticket to a friend who was going to Disneyland for the first time with her daughter!

I gave suggestions on entry time (rope drop, duh), dinner reservations, shows, outfits, you name it. ACCEPT, I did not mention that they needed park RESERVATIONS! Can you believe it!

In my short defense, you have to make the reservation before you even pay for the tickets on the Disneyland app which I use to plan my trips. So, it didn’t even cross my mind to mention it. I will never make that mistake again!!

Park Reservation info:

  1. You MUST have a reservation to enter a park, not just a ticket!
  2. You need a reservation and park ticket for each member of your party.
  3. Be sure to book ahead. Reservations do fill up frequently so one or both parks may not be an option for you to visit on your desired day if reservations are gone.
  4. In the app, the Calendar will show a castle representing Disneyland and the Ferris wheel representing DCA. Whatever symbol or symbols are shown on the day you are looking to visit, that is the park that still has reservations left .
  5. As of May 17th 2023, You can modify your current reservation. You no longer need to cancel your current reservation and reserve a new day/ new park.
  6. Park Hopping starts at 11am, you do not need to make a reservation for both parks. Only for the first park your tickets will allow you to park hop if that is what you purchased.

I suggest purchasing tickets through the Disneyland app so everything is located in the same place. Before you can pay for your tickets will be required to make a reservation for which park you wish to visit on which day. This will avoid making the grave mistake of not having a reservation.

So, to avoid making a HUGE mistake and arriving to the park with a ticket and unable to enter, make sure you make a park Reservation! For more information on tickets and park reservations check out the Disneyland Website https://disneyland.disney.go.com/
